Dr. Marilyn Horacek is a native of WV; she grew up in rural Marshall and Harrison Counties. Her undergraduate degree is in animal and veterinary science from WVU. Later she went on to obtain her Master's Degree in library information from the University of Kentucky and began her career as a librarian. She completed medical school at the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1995.  Dr. Horacek worked at Ohio Valley Medical Center for 12 years before starting her own private practice for the next six years.  

She has been married to her wonderful husband, Lou, for 37 years and together they have three amazing daughters: Libby, Cari, and Sam (son-in-law Albert).  She enjoys worshiping at the Trinity Episcopal Church or Big Run Christian Church. Her hobbies include reading, baking, playing a five-string banjo, listening to music, gardening, spending time with her dog and cat, and bragging on her children and parents.
