National Radiologic Technology Week

National Radiologic Technology Week (NRTW) is an annual celebration of the vital work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and healthcare safety. It is observed during the week of November 8, commemorating the anniversary of the discovery of the X-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on November 8, 1895. 

Radiologic technologists (RTs) are essential members of the healthcare team. They use their skills and knowledge to create high-quality images of the body's internal structures, which can then be used by doctors to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. RTs are also known for their compassion and empathy. They often work with patients who are feeling anxious or scared, and they take the time to explain the procedure and answer any questions they may have.
