🎀 During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wear pink to show support to those who have been diagnosed with, are battling, or are recovering from the disease 🎀
📣Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. It is about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year. The American Cancer Society's estimates for breast cancer in the United States for 2023 are: 📍 About 297,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women. 📍 About 55,720 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed. 📍 About 43,700 women will die from breast cancer. Remember -- “The best protection is early detection.” The first line of defense and perhaps the easiest, is yearly screenings. Be entered for a chance to win the beautiful Breast Cancer Awareness gift set pictured below by scheduling a screening at any of our 8 locations, during the month of October. To schedule an appointment call or text 304-643-4005. Not sure you can afford to be screened? Think again! RRHC proudly participates in the Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Program (BCCSP) which, in collaboration with the WV Department of Health and Human Resources, helps uninsured or underinsured women access breast and cervical cancer screening services. Eligibility for the BCCSP can be found by clicking here. Get screened today! #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

Ritchie Regional Health Center attended the West Virginia Primary Care Association - WVPCA 2023 Leadership Conference and received the Pamela J. Moore Health Center Engagement Award. This award, named in honor of Pamela J. Moore, recognizes outstanding engagement in; contributions to; and commitment to the WVPCA’s network of community health centers. Pam Moore was a longstanding member of the WVPCA team, supporting member engagement as well as PCA and CHC collaboration, and the events and trainings provided to bolster best practices and partnership at the community level. With over 35 years in support of community health centers, Pam was unapologetic in her role and understood the critical need for deep connection and relationship building. As she would say - “It's the people that matter!” Individual community health centers within the WVPCA who engage with the Association and its network consistently through points of engagement were eligible for the award and selection was made by WVPCA staff, utilizing anecdotal and data-driven engagement points. Ritchie Regional is privileged to be the recipient of this prestigious award and thanks the WVPCA for supporting community health centers and bringing them together to provide outstanding care to West Virginia. Ritchie Regional Health Center wanted to ensure patients who are enrolled in Medicare, receive a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) notice informing them that our practice is a part of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO).
An ACO is a group of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers who work together to improve the quality and experience of our patients health care needs. Please know there is no change in health benefits. We want to be sure patients understand the notice and do not have any questions or concerns. Medicare protects the privacy of health information. If you receive Medicare and don’t want Medicare to share information with your health care providers for care coordination, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to opt out of data sharing. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the notice, please contact the Ritchie Regional Health Center Chief Quality Officer, Wendy Cutright, at (304) 643-4005, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thank you for choosing Ritchie Regional Health Center to be a part of your healthcare journey. Your trust in us means the world. 👻🎃 Ritchie Regional Health Center is excited to announce that we will be hosting our first Halloween Health Fest on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at RRHC Harrisville Campus/the Harrisville Gym!

Has anyone noticed National Dental Hygiene Month is the same month as Halloween? Coincidence?! Or is it the perfect time to stress the importance of dental hygiene because of the sweets many of us indulge in this time of year?
For RRHC, National Dental Hygiene Month is a time to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health which is more than just having a pretty smile. It is directly tied to our overall health and well-being. Studies have shown that poor oral health can be linked to a number of chronic diseases, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease. The good news is that good oral health is easy to achieve with a few simple steps:
In addition to raising awareness about dental hygiene, National Dental Hygiene Month is an opportunity to recognize the hard work of our dental hygienist, Sarah Bartley. Sarah is an essential member of our dental team, providing preventive care and education to patients of all ages. She plays a vital role in helping people maintain healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime. If you’d like to make an appointment with Sarah, call 304-873-1401 ext. 201. We accept most insurance plans and offer the Sliding Fee Scale to uninsured or underinsured individuals. |
