Ritchie Regional couldn’t agree more with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) 2022 Medical Assistants Recognition Week (MARWeek) campaign, “Medical Assistants Are Magic.” Although these essential healthcare professionals don’t wave around a magic wand, they provide clinical and administrative support for physicians and other medical staff by drawing blood, administering vaccinations, taking patients’ vital signs, and more. So today, on Medical Assistants Day, RRHC would like to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to our amazing, magical MAs: Chyanna Brundage, Missie Frederick, Evelyn Smith, Tina Townsend, Kayla Yerkey, and Amber Yost! In the words of Nursing Supervisor, Kathy Osborne, "Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to RRHC. We appreciate you!!" Happy Medical Assistants Recognition Day! #MedicalAssistantsRecognitionDay #MedicalAssistantsRecognitionWeek

Although National Boss’ Day is celebrated annually on October 16, it can be observed on the following working day if it falls on a weekend. Given that the 16th was on a Sunday this year, Ritchie Regional would like to express our gratitude today, to our boss: CEO, Amy Yokum.
Amy has been at the helm of RRHC for over two years and through her outstanding leadership, has seen us through some very trying times. It’s no secret bosses can make or break the entire workplace and we’re fortunate to have one of the best. Amy is constantly working to improve RRHC for patients and employees alike. She is passionate, positive, empathic, supportive, motivational, and inspiring - she is the very definition of an ideal boss. Amy, we can only imagine the challenges and difficult decisions you have faced, but may you never forget how much we appreciate all you do for RRHC. Happy Boss’ Day! #bossday Every October 6 - October 12 is National Physician Assistant Week. This week is a time to celebrate PAs everywhere and thank them for their valiant efforts!
Too few people realize just how essential physician assistants are. PAs are medical professionals with thousands of hours of training. Their skills enable them to diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform many other medical tasks. PAs have a strong background in general medicine and support other medical professionals to provide a deeper level of patient care. Ritchie Regional is fortunate enough to employ one such crucial PA, Danielle Potts. Danielle has been RRHC for a little over a year and provides primary care services at the St. Marys High School Wellness Center, located near the front entrance of St. Marys High School. She is currently accepting new patients and welcomes Pleasants County students, faculty, and the community at large. To make an appointment with Danielle, call 855-552-8907 or text 304-643-4005. Returning patients with acute care needs (sinuses, allergies, pink eye, etc.) may use RRHC’s online self-scheduler. Happy National Physician Assistant Week, Danielle! Thank you so much for your service! #PAweek #rrhcsbhc Humans have used chewing gum for over 5,000 years. They may have chewed it for enjoyment, to stave off hunger, or to freshen their breath much like we do today. To celebrate the chewable globs that fulfill the human urge to gnaw, National Chewing Gum Day was created. In observance of National Chewing Gum Day, RRHC gave away packs of sugar-free gum to patients to highlight the benefits of chewing gum. Happy chewing! Facts About Chewing Gum: 1. Good for focus, memory, and stress relief Studies prove that chewing gum helps to reduce stress, increase alertness, and improve memory. 2. Improves oral health If sugar-free gum is chewed after a meal, the increased flow of saliva may help wash away acids produced by bacteria while breaking down food. This reduces plaque build-up. 3. It keeps you from crying Chewing gum while cutting onions can prevent your eyes from watering. 4. Gum in hair If you ever get gum stuck in your hair, try using peanut butter to get it out. 5. Pink bubble gum Originally, the only available color for chewing gum was pink! 6. Helps with nausea Some flavors of sugar-free gum may reduce nausea. Gums with ginger or mint flavors are more likely to soothe an upset stomach. #NationalChewingGumDay |
