Your credit card transaction is encrypted and processed on a secure server. Payments are instantly confirmed with an email receipt. Your information is not sold, rented, or shared with any third parties.

School-Based Health Centers - In addition to being primary care centers, six of RRHC’s campuses are also designated as School-Based Health Centers (SBHC). These clinics are located within school grounds and can support the schools (teachers, students, staff); however, they are also open to providing clinical services to the student’s parents and the community at large. Students can be seen during school hours, with parental consent.

Prevent Child Abuse Month

👶👧👱‍♂️ You may have seen blue pinwheels popping up around your community. Why? Because April is Prevent Child Abuse Month. The color for child abuse awareness is blue and the symbol for child abuse prevention is the blue pinwheel. The pinwheel is a symbol of hope, safety, health, and most importantly happiness. It symbolizes efforts to change the way our community thinks about child abuse prevention.

The future prosperity of our nation depends on our ability to foster the health and well-being of the next generation. We now know that the basic architecture of the human brain is constructed through an ongoing process that begins before birth and continues into adulthood. When you are building a house, you go step by step, beginning with a strong foundation. Just like a house, a strong foundation in children’s early years increases the probability of positive outcomes. A weak foundation increases the odds of later difficulties.

Experiencing a chronic stressful condition such as neglect or abuse is what scientists call toxic stress, can disrupt the developing brain architecture. This can lead to lifelong difficulties in learning, memory, and self-regulation. Children who are exposed to serious early stress develop an exaggerated stress response that, over time, weakens their defense system against diseases, from heart disease to diabetes and depression. That’s why it is of the utmost importance to protect and nurture our children to the best of our abilities.

Join us in supporting this noble cause and plant a virtual pinwheel today: https://pinwheels.preventchildabuse.org/

“Together, we can prevent child abuse, America…because childhood lasts a lifetime.”

Ritchie Regional, Westbrook, and Sheriff’s Office Teams with Drug Enforcement Administration for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Picture
Harrisville, West Virginia – On Friday, April 21, from noon to 3 p.m. Ritchie Regional Health Center, Westbrook Health Services, and the Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office will partner up to host the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. In addition to the public having access to the Drug Disposal that is located inside the Sheriff’s Office, Ritchie Regional will be providing Naloxone Training and Westbrook will be offering Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal Kits.

For more than a decade, the event has helped Americans easily rid their homes of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—that too often become a gateway to addiction.

Take Back Day offers free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at more than 4,000 local drop-off locations nationwide.

What: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

When: Friday, April 21 from noon to 3 p.m.

Who: Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office, Ritchie Regional Health Center, and Westbrook Health Services

Where: Ritchie County Sheriff’s Office (109 E North St. Harrisville, WV 26362)

In partnership with local law enforcement, Take Back Day has removed more than 8,300 tons of medication from circulation since its inception.

The collection site will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs will not be accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The cap must be tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
